About Dr. Nicholas Manning, DPT

Dr. Nick attended the University of MN - Twin Cities, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology - Clinical Movement in 2012. In 2016 he achieved his Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from St. Catherine University in St. Paul, MN.

First exposed to physical therapy after a knee injury in high school, Dr. Nick realized the influence a physical therapist can have on their patient’s quality of life. While Dr. Nick was still in high school his father survived an illness that left him hospitalized for several months, once recovered he needed to relearn all the movements of daily life. After watching physical therapists help return his father to him, Dr. Nick dedicated both undergraduate and doctoral studies to learning the practice that had such an impact on his life.

Dr. Nick and his wife are both excited to be out of the big city (Minneapolis) and returning to their small town roots by joining the Brainerd Lakes Area community! Dr. Nick is especially excited to build strong relationships within a closed community of people and support them on their journey to health. His favorite part of physical therapy is hearing that people he treats are able to return to all of the things they love doing. When a patient says “I couldn’t do that before, but now I can” or “I just don’t think about my pain anymore” he knows he did his job right. Dr. Nick would be honored to help you return to the things you love doing. He will perform a comprehensive evaluation of any areas giving you trouble and help develop a personal and specific plan to help you address the pain and limitations you are facing. In his free time, Dr. Nick is an avid sports fan and enjoys many outdoor activities including snowboarding, rollerblading, skating, hiking, sailing, and traveling with his wife.
