Acupuncture is a method of encouraging the body to promote natural healing and balance by inserting tiny sterile needles at particular points throughout the body. Acupuncture also stimulates the body allowing for the release of natural painkillers such as endorphins and serotonin; making the treatment quite relaxing. Since no two bodies are the same, every acupuncture treatment plan is specifically made for you and your condition(s). A typical acupuncture treatment consists of approximately 15 to 25 needles depending on the condition being treated and needles retain for about 25-30 minutes while you relax.

Additional acupuncture techniques:

Cupping Therapy (without needles)

Cupping therapy is kind of treatment modality that involves the placement of glass or plastic cups along sore muscle areas or areas of pain. The cups are vacuum formed on the skin and are commonly used for neck, shoulder, and low back pain along with asthma and common cold/flu symptoms. Cupping therapy can promote blood circulation and relieve the “stagnation or stuck blood” that potentially causes pain. It may produce local bruise-like mark afterward, which indicates the “stagnation” of the body. Cupping can be very relaxing and may be applied to any acupuncture treatment or can be done alone.

Cosmetic Acupuncture

Cosmetic acupuncture can be for anyone at any age. Cosmetic acupuncture can stimulate and increase collagen & elastin production, help diminish fine lines and wrinkles, improve muscle tone of the face and jaw line, and it can generate an even skin tone/color. This kind of treatment can also promote relaxation and help reduce stress. Cosmetic acupuncture is generally a 10 treatment series with maintenance treatments suggested on a quarterly basis.

Pregnancy & Cervical Ripening

Pregnancy is a time of constant change and growing a little one is a lot of work. Acupuncture is a great support through out pregnancy and postpartum.

Group Acupuncture

Group acupuncture is acupuncture practiced in a group setting, rather than one on one in a treatment room. “Group style” acupuncture treatments are primarily done on the front of the body and mainly on distal points (knees, feet, hands, ears, scalp etc.) All you need is to wear comfy, loose fit clothing that allows easier access to those areas of the body; with barely any skin being exposed. Simply sit and relax for about 30 minutes. Group acupuncture is a common practice in China, with the mission of offering effective & affordable acupuncture so you can receive treatments more frequently. Since most conditions take more than one treatment to resolve, group acupuncture is a great option for body pain, headaches, sleep issues, stress relief, allergies and even relaxation! Also, with this style of acupuncture you can bring a friend or a family member and experience it together!
